When you want your music to grab the listener, you need a mix that instantly conveys your sound in order to pull the audience in and keep them engaged throughout the song. A quality mix keeps the listener focused on the music itself. In short, we both want your finished song to sound like a record, not a demo.
While great music transcends all genres, I work mostly with songs made by real people singing and playing real instruments (drums, bass, guitars, etc.). Great music always evokes an emotional response in the listener.
Whether the song tugs at your heartstrings, makes you tap your foot, nod your head to the beat, or pump your fist in the air—the emotion should always come through. This is not by luck or by magic; it is the end result of the hard work put in by the songwriter, musicians, producer, arranger, audio engineers and other talented people that care enough to deliver their very best.

It begins with a good song and a strong performance captured cleanly by your recording engineer or your own DIY setup. Some light editing for timing and tuning may be necessary but keep in mind there's only so much anyone can do with a poorly recorded performance after the fact. As your mix engineer, I will work with you objectively to enhance the very best qualities of the recorded performance while smoothing out anything that distracts from our mutual goal of allowing your audience to hear your work at its very best.
Additional production during the mixing phase is not always a good thing, and a good song with an effective arrangement can keep the listener engaged on its own merit. While I will gladly offer my suggestions, I will never impose any stylistic changes or make drastic changes to your song unless we've discussed it first and agree that it helps the song. A big part of what makes your music unique is YOUR SOUND, not mine.
Your multitrack recordings will be mixed down to a stereo mix that translates well when played back on most speakers, headphones, car stereos and mono systems. The final mix will be provided to you in a standard, high-quality WAV file ready to be delivered to your mastering engineer.
